I figure everyone needs just one more suitcase right?
And this.....wood...box...uhm falls today into the why did I buy this?
If you know me this carpenter's tool box does not surprise you. I realize that my passion for tool boxes/tool trays really leans to the large size! This one was found at the one lonely sale in an old man's garage along with the shoe forms below.
At the mall show I found a booth that was more my style and price. I was delighted to find this pully! Not something I see or for that matter have ever seen at a sale around here. Having seen all the wonderful uses on line for them I quickly bought it. AT $15.00 I have no idea what it is worth but it is mine now.
The same booth had the architectural corner pieces, $8 for the set
and a fun wooden box.
So the mantel got a redo.....but to tell you the truth I aint diggin' it. It just isn't coming together.
I think as soon as these plants fatten up this will be a great corner.
As for my wooden box....I am still unsure what to do with it. I am not liking anything so far. Ideas welcome!
Now....yesterday the sales finally started and there are some today but, that lovely Spring has given way to chilly cloudy rainy yuk. I did manage yesterday to get a great funnel for only a buck. As soon as I asked if he would take the dollar for it the owner takes out a sharpy and writes a huge 1.00!! I about fainted, I quickly used the secret super mom spit and because of the awesome layer of crud and oil on the funnel, it came clean. My fingers on the other hand were not so clean.
My last find were these wall sconce curtain holders with milk glass calla lilies! love them, I have never seen anything like them, have you? I would love to hear if you are familiar with them. I paid $5 for the set.
So for today...I am debating whether or not to brave the rain and cold for the few sales that are out there or to wait until tomorrow when it looks to be at least a little sunny.
Considering I am still in my pj's and in a blanket with coffee and it is 11:00 I am thinking, tomorrow is a better option.

Hi Shannon~
love all the junk you got. That pulley is so cool.
I think the box is cool. You mantel will come together-- just keep dinking around with it until you like it!
I haven't been to any sales...but I did go to Tractor Supply today and had a fun time looking around. Got to spend my birthday money too!
take care--

Got my newspaper and saw four yard sales for tomorrow. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO..we are so starting early in our parts here in Canada...So I'm excited...Great finds...as always, beautiful vignettes made.
I've been checking out a pulley like yours, maybe a little smaller, at a local flea market. Haven't bought it-kinda pricey. Didn't know what to do with it. Hummmmm...I'll have to do some research. Yours looks great!
Oh Shannon...all great finds...but I tell you, you got a detectable oooohhh when I saw those curtain tie backs...wow, they are something!!
wow amazing finds i love them xxx
oh my love those tie backs and what a great price!
Love your finds...wonderful pulley and fireplace vignette.
SCORE! I am excited over that pulley! I have a PILE of pulley's, but never seen one like that! I like how you're using it as sort of like a rusty wreath on the window. You have some awesome finds! My hubby picked me up a couple of old wooden nail barrels at an auction today.
LOL (about leaving at 11p to find stuff)!!!
GREAT finds, Shannon! I have never seen anything like these calla lilies also nothing like that metal hanger! You got great deals and beautiful stuff! I was lazy to go to garage sales today... maybe tomorrow!
I love old boxes too...and that pulley is just fab.

You found some awesome stuff. Love the suitcase. I'm with you on the yard sales though. Nothing like finding the weird thing that someone thinks is worth nothing and you're dying to buy.
Congratulations on your feature at Coastal Charm...
You certainly have a wonderful eye when it comes to shopping ... loved everything!
Blessings!
