A Southern Belle with Northern Roots/Junkflirt

Incorporating wedding decor made for a fun change to my mantel.  After collecting shutters and painting them pink for the wedding, I am now searching for fun ways to use them.


Here they are at the wedding....

 and now one set has been changed to red!





It adds a good pop of color, now onto the two larger sets....hmmm joining Funky Junk for some more ideas!!

A little change......you know when winter won't end...and your house won't stay clean and you feel you need a little change.
All you can do....
is decorate!
After our daughter's wedding we are trying - oops, sorry had to laugh at the we.
 I am trying to incorporate some pieces I accumulated into new decor.
My husband...he is not interested.

That is why when I worked on this display without his help, it fell on my head and gave me a goose bump. I sprung a vein in my finger- I know- somehow I did something that made a big blue vein pop out and get very sore in the joint of my finger.


I found the door on sale at a resale home store where proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity. A great deal at 7.50-
I placed half of the original wall display right on top of the door, leaving a similar feel to the room but just a tad different.

We had a lovely time, everything went well and we are still putting away burlap, calla lilies and tulle.
Family is still here and the newlyweds are on their honeymoon, I will be back soon to fill you in more, share photos and lessons learned.
