Is that not the truth! instead of buying buying I need to use what I have. You might be suprised how every day things can be changed for a holiday. Good luck....i think most feel the same way evn if they won't admit it!
I think what frustrates me the most over the holidays is having the company...I always get a little nervous. I would rather be the guest instead of the hostess! Where do I waste money? Buying too much food. On blogs, I love to see how they decorate their homes for the holidays to get some ideas for myself! :)
XO,
Jane
My angst comes from my unwillingness to 'downsize' when it comes to the holidays. I am older now and can't do all that I did when I was 30 but I try and then I get so frusterated. It would help if I could figure out how to maintain the holiday spirit without thinking I have to work so hard to get there.
Well, there is a lot that can be frustrating. Money is always an issue. How to not go overboard and then regret it. Trying to do tooooooo much is one of my worst frustrations. I love the time with family, just want it to be too perfect. Hugs, Marty
I am relieved that I have finally come to terms with the 'holiday' season. I use Flylady's prepare for the holidays guide, and do stuff ahead of time.
My frustration now is balancing the desire for seasonal food with staying on course with healthy eating plans. It's tough having stuff on hand for others, but not dipping into it myself.
I love and hate dragging out all the holiday decorations, it is a big job for a few short weeks. But I enjoy looking at it when it is done. The gift buying is getting hard too, finding the right thing for everyone. Thanks for stopping by, Laura
I hate all the decorating too! Dragging out ornaments, trying to be magazine perfect then a few weeks later, taking it all down again. I feel like the entire month of December is a full month loss of my life. Christmas dictates my entire life, the cooking, shopping, sending Christmas cards, decorating, trying to be Ho! Ho! Ho! happy. Really all I want to do is enjoy the peace of the season (if I can find it), family time, and rest.I can't do it all anymore and don't really want to. Why do I feel everything has to be perfect?
You know, I really just want it to be about the birth of Jesus and God's gift to mankind.....not Santa Claus and all the rest.....

I love the decorating part of it but hate doing christmas cards in all honesty. The thought of getting one card or giving one card a year to someone seems silly. The baking part of it stresses me out. Never have enjoyed it. I'd rather go to the bakery and buy it all but too expensive. I love wrapping gifts and seeing them under the tree.
Oh, this is a good one! Sometimes I buy something and get home and realize I already have it! Is that awful or not! I try to go too overboard with decorating and then I'm sorry I did when it's time to put it all away! :)
Thanks for your kind comments to me.
You're always a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
