Work continues for my first try at a booth this coming Fall. I have never been a master at furniture refinishing and my husband HATES painted furniture. Good thing I intend to sell these (God willing). I suppose I could paint a piece here and there and tell him they were for the booth and maybe decide not to sell them? or forget them at home? shhh don't tell. I will have to think on that.
This weekend I found the cutest little night stand, I was excited to work on it, being it is a small piece I felt I could tackle it! I make my own chalk paint, not because I don't like store bought, in fact, I am sure I would love it....I just can't afford it right now. So I buy paint, even a couple gallons of someone's oops for a buck a gallon and I go home and dig in.
I also gave a try to some waxing. Now....don't tell Annie or Cece...but I mixed some black stain into my already owned beeswax furniture polish and....used it! cost- about a third. Now, again I am sure I would and will one day use their products, when my budget allows but for now I am using what I have.
Note the little frame with buttons and key, I am doing several small frames and other misc pieces to hopefully catch the eye at the booth too.
Next up the previous toy cabinet from a second hand store that is now a shabby junk tower. It is the slick fake wood, so it needed priming and a couple coats of paint. I then painted black chalk on the front and decoupaged sheet music to the sides. A little sanding let layers of the white primer and blue previous color shine to give it a worn look.
Next up a great saw horse, a huge frame and a couple vintage drawers. You can keep up by liking on Facebook. Click .

Shannon- Two really GREAT makeovers! I love them both- xo Diana
Congratulations on you feature in Mobile Home Living! Love your makeover projects!
Hello Shannon, I love your makeover projects! I'm sure these will sell. I have a cedar chest very similar to the one in your earlier post, it's great you were able to repair the lid. The table and chair are wonderful, I wish I had more room in my house.
I popped over from Mobile and Manufactured Home Living. I'm adding you to my blog roll of Upwardly Mobile blogs. My husband and I are downsizing to a double wide mobile home, and I started a blog about the makeover. You're very inspirational.
