Unusual Photo Frames- Trowels and Scrapers

A fun way to use old tools, metals or broken pieces is to incorporate them into a new item. I used some old trowels and a broken ice scraper to make some fun frames.

Pieces of broken jewelry, ribbons and old keys were added for embellishment.
I tore book and scrapbook paper to glue on as a backdrop.
Several were magnetic but one was not. This one I tied the small frame onto the back handle to help hold a photo. The others I just made a magnetic holder out of keys.

E600 glue was used to adhere the permanent embellishments and regular Elmer's for the paper.

Rustic with a little bling! An easy and fun new way to display photos, recipes, or to leave a note.

Shannon, you are one creative girl! I love this idea. Nothing is thrown away. You used old things to make new ones. I wish you and your family a very Happy New Year! I hope 2014 is a blessed year!

I don't have any of these old trowels...that could be used. Any old trowels or tools we have...need to be put to use WORKING! HA!
But these are adorable Shannon.
I also like the fact, that this idea could be used in other ways too... so cute.
Love the little blinged out magnets too.
Happy new Year my friend... try and stay warm there in your little snugger home... I can't imagine the -49 I read somewhere that you are having. I just can't.
More than sweater weather...ugh!

Very interesting and creative idea you used on the frames. I really like them, but would never have thought of doing this. One smart cookie.
